ENTERING THE AWARDS

A: Any wedding supplier in the United Republic of Tanzania

A: Simply complete the online entry process on this web site and away you go!

A: No! You can simply register your business yourself whenever you are ready.

A: The entry fee is TZS 70,000/= (Seventy Thousand Shilling Only) per entry per entity

A: The entry fee is a low barrier to entry and represents excellent value for money. Our entry fee (and event ticket price) is much more accessible.
We charge an entry fee because:

1. Harusi Awards is a social business with associated costs, just like your business. From the web site and marketing costs to managing, the 450+ entrants and the voters, running these awards take a lot of time and effort.

2. Harusi Awards gives you so much more in return for your entry fee than any other awards:
- Access to Harusi Awards branding for use on Social Media etc.
- Free listing on our online Directory.
- Increased industry profile for your business.
- A greater chance of being Nominees, finalist or winning.
- Great marketing potential – vital differentiation just by entering.

The entry fee enables us to…
1. Recognize and reward excellent wedding suppliers all over the country, thus helping them generate more business.
2. To help engaged couples make better-educated decisions when booking wedding suppliers for their wedding.
3. Ensure that the high standards it recognizes become the industry standard to which we all aspire.
4. Be rigorous, fair and open to all wedding suppliers in the United Republic of Tanzania.

Integrity, credibility and reliability lie at the very heart of everything we do. We think that’s worth the fee and we hope to involve as many people as possible in the Awards.

COMMENT:

PEOPLE SHOULDN’T PAY TO ENTER THE AWARDS; AWARDS SHOULD BE WON ON MERIT.


ANSWER: In other industries, it is standard protocol to charge an entry fee for awards programme. Payment of the entry fee in no way affects the ability of any supplier to win an Award on merit.

Harusi awards are more merit-based than any other wedding awards. This is due to our rigorous process, our unique client voting system and our large, broad, diverse and expert judging panel.

We have worked hard to ensure that suppliers of all shapes and sizes can compete on a level playing field, as it is not all about the total number of votes received.

We regret that there may be some wedding suppliers who will not be able to afford the entry fee but we believe that these are in the very small minority. We feel that the fee is a small business investment to make in light of the considerable benefits of entering Harusi Awards.

“THE ENTRY FEE AFFECTS THE FAIRNESS OF THE AWARDS.”

One of the main criticisms of the entry fee is that the Awards can only be fair if every wedding supplier is involved and that an entry fee) is unfair because it stops some wedding suppliers being involved.

If Harusi Awards attracts about 450+ entries each year (not even close to every wedding supplier in the country) but that doesn’t mean that the Harusi Awards is unfair. With or without an entry fee, there will always be many suppliers who choose not to enter Harusi Awards for a variety of reasons. Many suppliers, for whatever reason, choose not to enter Harusi Awards (or don’t even know about it!) and the presence of an entry fee does not alter the situation.

The keys to fairness are the voting system and judging processes. The Harusi Awards voting and judging processes are rigorous and fair to all involved and sit at the very heart of everything we do.

THE ENTRY FEE IS TOO MUCH

We had many discussions about how much to charge as an entry fee but we always came back to one factor – it needs to be affordable to the vast majority of wedding suppliers whilst covering the costs of everything we do and provide.

We think that the fee is really good value for all the things we offer including:
- A listing on our directory online on the Harusi awards site attracts supplier searches and is a valuable resource for anyone organizing a wedding.
- Use of appropriate Awards branding for use in your own marketing. Just by entering, suppliers are able to download a variety of Harusi Awards logos for use on their web sites and social media. Harusi Awards has an unrivaled reputation in the wedding industry and the logo has become a recognized kite mark indicating the very highest standards. Entering Harusi Awards shows clients (past, present and future) that business owners are confident in their products and services, that they are proud of what they do and are backing themselves in a fair and rigorous competition based on client’s votes and a judging process that is second to none. This is a powerful message in a highly competitive market place.
- The chance to be shortlisted for and win an award voted for by their clients and judged by our expert panel. The marketing potential associated with this is huge not to mention the satisfaction of being voted for by your clients and officially recognized for what you do.
- We believe you shall have had a huge amount of feedback as an entrants saying how Harusi Awards would have helped not only your businesses to grow and develop but also helped you personally through increased self-confidence and interacting with other wedding suppliers at our various awards events etc.

Harusi Awards provides entrants with two main services. Firstly, an arena where anyone organizing a wedding can find great wedding suppliers from all over the country who are actively endorsed by their clients. Secondly, appropriate branding and brand association enabling individual suppliers to use their entry, shortlisting or win in the Awards to their advantage in their own marketing and advertising.

If used effectively, being associated with Harusi Awards is good for a supplier’s business and we hope that the entry fee will become part of people’s annual advertising and marketing budget due to the benefits and services that we offer.

A: Yes, if you have a wedding business that fits into two categories or more (e.g.: Hair and Make Up) then you may enter both categories. You will need to enter each separately for each category.

A: You can upload up to 10 photos and up to five videos. Your uploads can feature any wedding work you have done in the year 2020.

NOMINATION

A: Nomination is simply a way in which anyone can tell us about amazing wedding suppliers that they know. The person/business you nominate will then receive an email informing them that you have nominated them and inviting them to enter the awards.

A: No! Any wedding supplier can enter their business at any time.

VOTING

A: The General Public, Industry professional and recent clients of the wedding suppliers who have entered the awards may vote for them. This ensures that Harusi Awards is based firmly on user experience.

A: Not necessarily. We understand that just because one wedding supplier does more weddings than another, it doesn't mean that they are necessarily better. Wedding suppliers control the number of weddings they do in all sorts of ways and for all sorts of reasons. As a result we have developed a system that enables wedding suppliers of all shapes and sizes to enter the awards on a level playing field.

A: Yes - this will be available to entrants that request it from the Audit firm overseeing the awards

JUDGING PROCESS

A: There is a selection of eminent personalities on the Judging Panel brought in together and managed by the Audit firm

A: All our judges are respected experts within the wedding industry and we have tried to ensure that there is a balanced panel with specific expertise in each category. Each judge is shown each entrant's judging profile in their category. This includes the responses to the judging profile questions, any photos and videos. Judges are also provided with links to external web sites and social media and may use any other means they see fit to help them make their decisions. The Harusi Awards judging process is the most credible and rigorous in the wedding industry overseen by a reputable Audit firm
